New patents for some Universal Studios attractions have been released, and two of them in particular may hint towards possible Nintendo-themed rides.
First up is a ride that looks to be based around the Mario Kart series. We can see a kart with two seats making a sharp drift around a corner. Perhaps the multiple passenger kart could be hinting at the ride being solely based around Mario Kart: Double Dash?
The other patent has four passengers riding in what may be a Donkey Kong Country-style minecart. It could be just as thrilling as the games too, as the patent describes the track “breaking” in order to send the minecart onto hidden paths.
Both of these are subject to change but it’s certainly exciting to see just what Nintendo and Universal are cooking up behind the scenes. Stay tuned for more news on this collaborative effort as it develops.
