Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé recently had an interview with the Washington Post where he reconfirmed that streaming services are on the way to the Nintendo Switch. While Nintendo is currently pushing the Switch to be a dedicated gaming device, they’re also in the process of working with various media companies to bring these apps to the platform:
“We’re talking to a range of companies about other services, companies like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon — things that will come in time.”
In the same interview, Reggie touched on how Nintendo’s focus is to keep a steady stream of content rather than having a blowout launch. He also mentioned that the 3DS and Switch will continue to coexist, with the Switch offering the technically advanced experiences that the 3DS can’t provide.
