Yooka-Laylee Release Date Announced, Wii U Version Cancelled In Favor Of Switch

Playtonic Games has revealed that Yooka-Laylee will be launching for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 11th, 2017. The game will cost $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 and will be available both physically and digitally on the same day.

What about the Wii U version, you might be wondering? Unfortunately, due to technical hiccups Playtonic has decided to cancel Yooka-Laylee on Wii U. The bright side however is that Playtonic are working extremely close with Nintendo to get the game onto the Nintendo Switch as soon as possible.

Backers of the game who chose the Wii U as their system of choice can now either change to one the versions launching in April or upgrade to the Switch version. More information on the Switch release is said to come in early 2017, so keep a lookout for future updates.
