In today’s Nintendo Switch reveal trailer, three new games were shown running on the console. What seems to be an updated port of Mario Kart 8, possibly a sequel to Splatoon, and even a completely new Mario game can be seen.
Footage of Mario Kart shows King Boo as a playable character and players holding more than one item, these features were not available in original release of Mario Kart 8. At the same time, the game is visually similar to Mario Kart 8 and gameplay shows Yoshi Circuit, a stage which appeared in Mario Kart 8. This all points to an updated port of Mario Kart 8 making its way onto the Nintendo Switch.
In addition, new hairstyles for the Inklings can be seen shortly in the trailer. Players couldn’t change their hairstyle in the original Splatoon, which poses the question of the game being either a sequel or an updated port.
Finally, gameplay of a brand new Mario game was shown of as well. Mario can be seen triple-jumping and long-jumping his way through never before seen levels. Notably, the game seems to be fairly similar visually to Super Mario 3D World.
