In a shocking turn of events, Disney has canceled production on Disney Infinity and will be dropping out as a video game publisher. The company announced in an earnings statement that Disney Infinity hasn’t been financially profitable and has since taken a $147 million charge. This also means their video game publishing division has been effectively shut down, including the closure of Disney Infinity developer, Avalanche Software.
The latest edition of the game, Disney Infinity 3.0, will receive two final sets. In May and June, the game will get sets based on Alice Through The Looking Glass and Finding Dory respectively.
Many people have lost their jobs due to these circumstances and I’d like to wish everyone the best in the their future endeavors.
